Devotees can visit Chardham from July 1, guidelines issued

Now the people of Uttarakhand will be able to pay obeisance at Chardhams. A limited number of people will be allowed to visit Chardham from one district to another within the state.

After considering all aspects, the government has decided to start the Chardham Yatra. The residents of the state will be able to visit all the four dhams from July 01.

But, in view of Coronavirus, the government has also issued a guideline for people going to Darshan. Also the guidelines will have to be strictly followed.

E-Pass necessary before visit

Those wishing to visit Chardham will have to register on the website of Uttarakhand Chardham Devasthanam Board. On the basis of registration, devotees will be allowed to visit with e-pass.

No devotees will be allowed to stay in a dham for more than one night under any circumstances. This rule will also be strictly followed.

Passes will not be issued in any condition to devotees over 65 years of age and children below 10 years who wish to go to Dham. Also, those suffering from serious diseases will not be allowed to visit Chardham.

Ravinath Raman, CEO of Uttarakhand Chardham Devasthanam Board, said that only people within the state are being allowed initially. For this, people have to get approval from the district administration of the respective dham.

People will be able to travel only after the issuance of the travel pass from the local administration. Till now only the local people within the districts connected with Dham, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli were allowed to visit.

The people of the Containment Zone will not be allowed

At present, people of the state with a containment zone will not be allowed to visit Dham. The people of the state have to show ID as proof of their local residence. Even quarantined people will not be allowed to go to Dham. People outside the state will not get any kind of approval.

Limited access

A very limited number of people will be given admission in Chardham. Only 1200 people will be allowed to go to Badrinath Dham 800 to Kedarnath  600 to Gangotri and 400 devotees will be allowed to go to Yamunotri.

From June 9, the number of people who reached Kedarnath Dham is 57, only 213 people reached Darshan in Badrinath Dham, whereas none reached Gangotri and Yamanotri.
