Student election in colleges across Uttarakhand on September 8

The initiative of conducting student union elections in the state by Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Minister of State for Higher Education, has been successful. This year, all the degree colleges in the state will hold elections on September 8.

Higher education director Dr. JC Ghildiyal has issued orders to all the principals. There are 101 political post-graduate colleges, 50 non-government colleges and five university campuses in the state. Earlier due to elections on different dates studies were effected for around two months.

The Director of Higher Education has issued clear orders that all the government and non-government colleges in the state will be vote on September 8. All the Principals will issue notification on the basis of fixed points in the meeting organized on August 24 under the chairmanship of the Lyngdoh Committee and the Minister of Higher Education.

In addition to DAV College Dehradun, MB PG College, Haldwani, if the other college principal wants to cast EVM, then they can contact EC commissioner and get the EVM. He said that the election of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University Students Federation will be held on September 10, 2019. The Kumaun University will set the date for the election of the Kumaun University Students’ Federation.
