Residential building collapses in Lucknow; rescue operations underway

A four-storey residential located on Wazir Hasanganj Road in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, suddenly collapsed on late Tuesday evening. There were 12 flats in this building. After the accident, 15 to 20 people are feared to be trapped under the debris, because the repair work of the building was going on when the accident happened.

However, no one had any idea of the collapse of the building. This accident has happened suddenly. At the same time, on receiving the information, teams of SDRF, NDRF and Fire Brigade reached the spot, which are engaged in rescue work.

 

Rescue teams engaged in relief work have so far taken out 9 injured, whose condition remains critical. Here, as soon as the news of the accident was received, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak also reached the spot. Relief and rescue work is going on in full swing and the injured have been shifted to the hospital.

Giving information about the accident, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said that the building was of four storeys. Seven people have been pulled out from the debris of the collapsed building, who have been sent to the trauma center of the civil hospital in an unconscious state. He said the biggest challenge right now is rescuing people, but it is difficult to estimate right now how many people are trapped under the debris.

According to the deputy chief minister, several families lived in the building. The work of building a basement was going on in the building, for which drilling was done. The building collapsed at around 7 pm after work stopped in the evening. Pathak said that as soon as he got information about the accident, he immediately directed the SDRF, NDRF and the police for relief work and he himself reached the spot.
