Lucknow sales manager shooting case: Accused constables suspended
On Friday night at Gomti Nagar in Uttar Pradesh’s capital, near the Makdupur Police Chowk, two cops shot an Apple Sales Manager Vivek Tiwari who was in his SUV. As soon as the bullet hit Vivek, the vehicle balance was impaired and collided with dividers. At the same time, Vivek died on the spot due to the bullet hitting his head. On seeing this, both the accused constables escaped from the spot. The other policemen took Vivek to the hospital where the doctors declared him dead. Police registered the case and arrested the constable Prashant Kumar and Sandeep. After the initial investigation, both the accused policemen have been suspended.
ADG Law and Order Anand Kumar said that this is a case of murder. He also dismissed all the facts about Vivek’s character. At the same time, SSP Kalanidhi Nathani said: “Constable felt that the passengers in the vehicle were criminals who were trying to escape after hitting a patrol bike. With this thinking he shot the deceased in defense.”
Kalpana, wife of the deceased Vivek, told that “last night at 1.30 AM she had talked with Vivek. He told that he was coming home after dropping Sana at home. When he did not come home, I was constantly calling both at 2 AM, but no one picked up the phone. Then at 3 o’clock someone picked up the phone, she said that Sir and Mam have been involved in an accident and they have been admitted to the hospital. She rushed to the hospital where doctors told that Vivek had died. I then went to the scene along with the police, where I saw that there were bullet marks in the vehicle glass. This is not an accident, it’s a murder. The police have murdered my husband.”
In the firing from the constable on the glass window, the bullet hit the head of Tiwari, which killed him on his spot. After that the SUV collided with the bridge of Pillar. Detailed information about this is still waiting. Vivek is survived by his wife and two daughters.
