No ration card? you can still get Ayushman Golden Card

Due to lack of ration card in Uttarakhand, five lakh people of the state deprived of Ayushman Yojana have got a big relief. The State Health Authority has decided to make golden cards of such families on the basis of the 2011 Socio Economic Survey.

Golden cards of Ayushman Yojana for free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh were being prepared on the basis of data of National Food Security Scheme for 2014-15 till now. Apart from this, the voter list of the same period was also used for preparation of such cards. But there are also a large number of people who were not in the state during that period and have now returned. But despite being in the state, the benefit of the Ayushman scheme was not available.

In order to provide benefits of the scheme to these people, now Ayushman Society has decided to include the complete data of Socio Economic Survey 2011-12 as well. Till now, data of only BPL families was being taken from this survey. In such a situation, now cards will be made for those people who do not have ration cards before 2014 but their names are included in the survey. Officials of Ayushman Yojana say that about five lakh people will benefit from this.

Due to the necessity of biometrics, there is a crisis on the free treatment of thousands of patients.
Due to the mandatory requirement of biometric in Ayushman scheme, those patients whose Ayushman card is made without Aadhaar. When they are coming to the hospital for treatment, the biometric process was not being completed by entering the card number.

State health plan officials say there are many people whose names do not feature in the electoral rolls as well as in the NFSA data for 2014-15. It is possible that the names of such people are not even in the Socio-Economic Survey. The cabinet has also approved the scheme of providing golden card facility to such people on the basis of the existing voter card of the state. However, its mandate has not been issued yet.

Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said, free treatment is being arranged for every citizen of the state by covering them with Ayushman scheme. Along with the data of the Socio Economic Survey, golden cards are being made on the basis of voter card and family register. A decision has been taken in this regard. Soon it will be implemented.
