Government forced to revise draft policy which made Hindi language compulsory

The second term of the Modi Government has begun with a debate on the new education policy. In the draft of the education policy, the Hindi language became mandatory for the implementation of the three language formulas in the southern states. Now the changes have been made by the government, the government has been forced to change the draft education policy. Under which the mandatory condition of Hindi has been removed.

On Monday morning, the Indian government changed the draft of its education policy. In the first three language formulas, apart from the regional language, the language of the school, it was made mandatory to make Hindi  as a third language. But the new draft has arrived on Monday, in which the word Flexible has been used.

That is, in addition to the regional language and the school language, the student will be able to choose the third language as per their wishes. That is, no third language can be impersonated on anyone. In this, the student can take the help of his school, the teacher, or their parents.

Actually, the Kasturirangan committee, which came before the education policy, has appealed to the government in its report that states should be seen as Hindi-speaking, non-Hindi speaking people. It has been appealed that in addition to the regional and English languages in non-Hindi speaking states, the third language should be brought in Hindi and it should be made mandatory.

This dispute of language has become completely political. The political parties of South India have accused the central government of imposing Hindi, while the government is making it clear that it is just draft, not the final policy. The government has assured that language will not be imposed on anyone, no decision will be taken without talking to everyone.

This issue are not just political, but the campaign has started running on social media. There was a trend on twitter on Sunday regarding the imposing Hindi language while #HindiIsNotTheNationalLanguage was trending today.
