Australia defeat New Zealand to win maiden T20I title

Australia defeated New Zealand by 8 wickets in the final match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Australia won the toss first and decided to bowl. Batting first, New Zealand had scored 172 runs for the loss of 4 wickets, in response to which Australia won in a with 8 wickets in hand. The Aussie team has won the T20 World Cup title for the first time.

New Zealand had given a target of 173 runs

New Zealand had scored 172 runs while batting first. New Zealand’s batsmen started very slowly, but after that captain Kane Williamson played a brilliant captains knock to take his team to 172.

Kane Williamson’s knock goes in vain

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson scored 85 runs while playing the captain’s innings. In his innings, he hit 10 blazing fours and hit 3 fiery sixes. Due to his innings, New Zealand scored a big score. Williamson had played a very aggressive innings. This batsman showed that form comes and goes, but class is permanent. Apart from him, opener Martin Guptill scored 28 runs in 35 balls. New Zealand scored 172 runs after 20 overs at the loss of four wickets. Kane Williamson has also become the highest run-scorer in the final of the T20 World Cup as a captain. But his heroics went in vain as Mitch Marsh (77*) and David Warner (53) took the Aussies to their first T20 International  title.
