NCERT syllabus change: Drops periodic table chapter from class X textbook

The periodic table, one of the essential part of Chemistry now will not be available in books. NCERT has removed this entire lesson from the new textbook of Science subject of class 10th. It has been argued that the burden has been reduced. Along with this, chapters like management of natural resources and sources of energy have been removed from this book.

Changes in books from class 6th to 12th

This change of NCERT is not only limited to class X text books and science subject text books but it has been done in almost all the major subjects in the books from class VI to class XII. the chapter on waste management has been dropped from the sixth standard.

Many lessons were also removed from the political science subject of class 10th and 12th

Along with this, NCERT has removed many lessons from  social science syllabus of class X as well as political science of class XI and XII. These include lessons like challenges to democracy and diversity, mass struggle and movemen. Meanwhile, NCERT said that this change in syllabus has been done only in the last academic session i.e. 2022-23, which was also implemented immediately in digital books. But after this change, now new books have come.

‘It’s a normal process’

Meanwhile, NCERT has shared information about this change made in different subjects from class VI to XII. Also said that this is a normal process. From time to time, removal and addition of chapters are done in the textbooks, which are considered necessary or are recommended by the expert committee.
