Airtel TV and Dish reportedly planning to merge together

Mukesh Ambani’s telecom company Reliance Jio is no longer limited to Telecom sector. The company is planning to introduce its DTH services soon. In this case, before the company moves into the industry, it seems that the rest of the companies are busy with their own preparations. Jio has made a big chunk of cable companies such as Hathway, Datacom and DEN networks in its name. According to media reports in this entire situation, Bharti Airtel is planning a merger with Dish TV. After Jio’s foray into the telecom industry, there have been a lot of changes in the scale. It is believed that this time companies have already been preparing to compete with Jio’s plan.

According to the media reports, the conversation about this merger is only in the initial phase. Now the possibilities are being searched for this merger. If this happens then Jio will get tough competition in the area of DTH. Airtel Digital TV and Dish TV together will become a large unit. Together, it will become the world’s largest TV distribution company. There will be 38 million subscribers and 61 percent of the DTH market in India will be theirs.

What is the result of this merger of DTH?

After the merger of Dish and Videocon, the value of the company has become Rs 17,000 crore. But its market value has decreased to Rs 7200 crore. On the other hand, the revenue of Airtel Digital TV has improved. The company has generated a revenue of Rs.1000 crores and 15 million subscribers. This gives the company an ARPU of Rs 230, which is one of the highest in the industry. Like the telecom war Jio is expected to give a tough competition to Airtel which was it’s biggest competitor in the telecom industry. In this way, the possibility of a merger of Airtel and Dish TV could be a challenge for Jio.
