Bajaj launches first quadricycle

Bajaj Auto has launched its Bajaj Qute Quadricycle in Maharashtra. It is priced at Rs 2.78 lakh for CNG (Commercial) variants and 2.48 lakh for petrol (personal) variants. These prices are ex-showroom prices. Qute is being launched in India in different phases. Earlier it has been made available in Kerala, Rajasthan, Orissa, Gujarat and UP.

The Qute contains 216cc single-cylinder, four-stroke, twin-spark (DTSi) engine. Petrol engine generates 13.18PS power at 5,500rpm and torque of 18.9Nm at 4,000rpm. It has a 5-speed transmission with it. At the same time, the CNG variant generates 11PS power at 5,500rpm and torque of 16.1Nm at 4,000rpm. According to Bajaj’s claim, the mileage of Qute petrol variants is 35 kmpl and 43 kg / kg of CNG.

Speaking of the dimension of Qute, it is 2,752mm long, 1,312mm wide and 1,652mm high. Its wheelbase is 1,925 mm. The luggage capacities of this rear engine quadricycle is 20 kilograms inside the bonnet. Additionally, an additional 40 kilograms can be carried with roof rails.

Bajaj’s new Qute has been launched after the government nod for Quadricycle category. The government has set some rules for quadricycle. According to this, it should not be more than 3.6m long, it should have an engine less than 800cc and its weight should not exceed 475 kg.

No vents are given in its dash. That is, there is no AC and neither is a blower. In this case, the need to open the sliding window for ventilation.
