Mexican rock star commits suicide over #metoo accusation

Armando Vega Gil (64), founder of Mexico’s famous rock band Botellita de Jerez , committed suicide on Monday after posting suicide note on Twitter. In the suicide note, he has denied the allegation of sexual harassment imposed on him under the Metoo campaign.

In a metoo campaign against musicians in Mexico, a woman accused Gil of sexual harassment. According to the woman, this incident happened when she was 13 years old. In the note, Gil said, ‘I want to clarify that the allegations against me are false. My death is not a confession of my crime.’
