Uttarakhand government issues 3 percent DA hike orders

The government has given relief to about 2.5 lakh employees and pensioners of the state from rising inflation. The government issued orders to increase dearness allowance on Tuesday.

After the increase of three percent, the employees taking the seventh pay scale will now get 34 percent dearness allowance per month. The regular payment of the increased dearness allowance will be with the salary due in the month of May i.e. June. The arrears of revised allowance will be paid in cash from January 1, 2022 to April 30, 2022.

As soon as the polling in Champawat by-election was over on Tuesday, the government ended the wait for DA hike. The employees and pensioners will get the increased dearness allowance along with the salary of May to be received in the month of June.

Separate orders were issued by Finance Additional Secretary Ganga Prasad for enhanced dearness allowance for the employees and pensioners taking the seventh, sixth and fifth pay scales.

State employees taking seventh pay scale, aided educational and technical educational institutions, urban local bodies, work-charged employees and teachers and post holders and pensioners working in UGC pay scale will get three percent increased dearness allowance from January 1, 2022.

Under the sixth pay scale, the dearness allowance of the employees and pensioners has been increased by seven percent. They will now get 203 percent dearness allowance instead of 196 percent. Similarly, 13 percent increase has been made in dearness allowance of employees taking fifth pay scale and retired employees.

They will now get 381 percent dearness allowance per month instead of 368 percent. Employees will get enhanced dearness allowance in cash from January 1, 2022 to April 30. From May 1, the dearness allowance will be paid regularly along with the salary. Due to increase in dearness allowance, the salary of the employees is expected to increase by Rs 1200 to Rs 5000.
