Post Karnataka elections fuel prices hiked to record high levels

After the prices of petrol and diesel remained stable for the last nearly 19 days it has been increased on Monday. After this, the petrol price in Delhi will now cost Rs 74.80 per liter and in Mumbai the cost of petrol is Rs 82.65 per liter. In Chennai, the price of petrol is Rs 77.61 per liter, while diesel is priced at Rs 69.79 per liter, while in Kolkata it is Rs 77.50 per liter, while diesel has been priced at Rs 68.68 per liter.

With the rising prices due to the rising prices of crude oil, in view of the rising prices and in Karnataka elections, the government oil marketing companies kept petrol and diesel prices unchanged for 20 days. It is worth mentioning since June 16, 2017, prices of petrol and diesel are being revised daily. Earlier, the government oil marketing companies used to review fuel prices twice a month.

In the last few days, if you look at petrol prices for almost 20 days, they were almost unchanged across the country. On April 24, 2018, the price of petrol in Delhi was 74 rupees 63 paise per liter. These prices remained intact till May 13, 2018. The price of petrol has changed in the 21st day i.e. three weeks later.
