UP government declares two holiday for Holi

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a public holiday on Holi, the festival of colours. There is confusion in many places regarding the date of Holi. Therefore, the Uttar Pradesh government has declared a two-day official holiday on Holi. On March 18 and 19, there will be a Holi holiday in UP. Jitendra Kumar, Principal Secretary, General Administration Section, issued a release on Wednesday, informing that there will be a holiday of Holi in government offices on March 18 and 19.

It has been said in the government release that Holi will be celebrated on March 18 as well as March 19 in Uttar Pradesh, so both days will be a holiday. In some places Holi is on 18th and in some places on 19th March. This is the reason that the government has given two days leave on March 18 and 19. At the same time, March 20 is a Sunday. In this way, government employees can enjoy Holi holiday for three consecutive days.

Holi will be a holiday for two days in all government offices. Because Sunday is a holiday. After the declaration of Holi holiday on Friday and Saturday, now schools, offices and banks in the state will remain closed for three days, adding Sunday. Now the offices of the government offices will open directly on Monday itself.
