Lok Sabha 2019: BJP makes clean sweep in Uttarakhand

In Uttarakhand, lotus has been bloomed for the second time in five seats of the Lok Sabha elections, while the Congress had to suffer loss. This picture is coming up as the final round of counting is reached. BJP candidates have got invincible edge in the five seats and now only formalities are left. In the Lok Sabha elections in the state, the Congress has been completely wiped  out.

Seeing the picture till 7 pm, former chief minister and sitting MP of Haridwar, BJP candidate Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, has maintained a lead of more than two lakh 50 thousand votes over his nearest rival, Ambresh Kumar of Congress. BJP nominee Ajay Bhatt on Nainital seat was ahead of his nearest rival, Congress candidate former Chief Minister Harish Rawat by more than 3 lakh vote.

Even in Almora, Union Minister of State for the BJP Ajay Tamta had an unmatched edge on his nearest rival Congress candidate Pradeep Tamta. In the Tehri seat, the current MP of BJP, Rajya Lakshmi Shah has ensured her third victory. In this seat Congress candidate Pritam Singh is running behind more than 2.5 lakh votes. BJP candidate on Pauri seat, National Secretary Teerath Singh Rawat is heading towards record victory. In this seat, Congress candidate Manish Khanduri was lagging behind more than two lakh 85 thousand votes in the count of votes so far.

Voting on all the five seats of the state in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 11. The main contest was seen in the BJP and the Congress in all the seats. This election was important to both parties. In front of the BJP where it was the challenge of repeating the 2014 performance, it was a fight to prove credibility in front of the Congress. In view of this, both the eyes of the parties were on the election results. As soon as the counting began on Thursday, all the candidates and their supporters sat on the news channels since morning.

If all the district headquarters counting started in the morning from eight o’clock in the state, then the pitch became more swift. From the beginning of the counting of votes, BJP candidates started taking advantage over their rivals. As the counting cycle progressed, the progress of the BJP candidates also went up. At the same time, along with the BJP candidates and their supporters, the party workers were enthusiastic.

 Going by the previous election results Congress-BJP came to power in Uttarakhand alternatively in Lok Sabha elections. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party had won all 5 seats in the state. But this time around BJP broke the trend and successfully retained all the 5 seats.
