Couple dies in freak accident on Delhi-Chandigarh highway

An unfortunate accident occurred near PVR on the Delhi-Chandigarh National Highway. The girder placed in the tractor trolley fell on the car. This decapitated the drivers head and went it went to the back seat. The wife sitting in the back seat was seriously injured. She was referred to PGI Rohtak where she too died. The couple was going to Ladwa in after visiting their daughter who is living in Sweden.

The accident occurred at about one and a half o’clock in the afternoon. Gaurav Goyal (57) and wife Ranjana Goyal, a resident of Ladwa, were going home from the Delhi airport in Innova by car. Both went to meet their daughter in Sweden. Gaurav was driving and Ranjana was sitting in the rear seat. A tractor trolley carrying a girder near the PVR in Delhi-Chandigarh National Highway was infront of the car.

Death in one stroke

On the highway suddenly the girder fell on the car from the tractor trolley. With this, the head of Gaurav was decapitated from his body. At the same time, Ranjana was seriously injured. She also died in PGI. The car was completely damaged due to the girder falling on it. Police said that the Ravi was sitting on the top of the girder in the trolley. He was also injured. The driver escaped with the tractor. Due to the accident, the situation of the jam occurred on the highway. Police reached the spot and sent the body to the post-mortem.

  1. This is reason hate coming to India. There should be direct international flights to chandigarh. Travelling via delhi is very risky. Indian govt is responsible for these accidents for not allowing direct flights to Chandigarh city which is near for Punjabi NRIs.
