Doctors go on strike in many places across the nation

The strike of junior doctors, which started from West Bengal, has now reached Delhi. The doctors are angered over the assault of junior doctors in Bengal. Supporting the doctors of West Bengal, the Delhi Medical Association (DMA) in the capital has called for a strike. Most of the impact is getting noticed in large hospitals like AIIMS. New patients are not being treated here in the OPD. At the same time doctors in Maharashtra have also refused to work. They say that they will do silent protests. According to reports, in addition to Delhi and Maharashtra, doctors in Punjab, Kerala, Rajasthan, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh have also refused to work.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee ordered the junior doctors who were conducting the strike to return to work on Thursday at 2 pm. But, those people did not follow her orders. They said that the strike will continue till their demand for security in government hospitals is complete.

What is the whole case

A 75-year-old lost his life in NRS Medical College, Kolkata during treatment. Family members of the elderly accused the doctor of negligence started beating the doctors. It is alleged that about 200 people came in trucks and attacked the hospital. Two junior doctors were badly injured in this attack.

NRS Principal and Deputy Principal resign

After this incident, health services were also closed in private hospitals. Meanwhile, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has declared an all-India protest day against the incident and to show solidarity with the striking doctors. Besides, NRS Medical College and Hospital Principal Syed Mukherjee and Medical Superintendent and Vice-Principal Prof. Saurabh Chatopadhyay has resigned because of his failure to tackle the crisis of the institute.
