Nadal dispatches Federer in straight sets to enter 12th French Open Final

Rafael Nadal of Spain, who called the King of Clay, once again defeated Roger Federer of Switzerland on the red dirt. They were face-to-face in the men’s singles category semi-finals of the second Grand Slam of the year. Nadal was killed here. Nadal reached the Grand Slam final for the 26th time.

Current world number two Nadal beat world number 3 Federer 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 in straight sets. This match lasted two hours and 25 minutes. With this, Nadal has stepped into the final to win his 12th French Open title, where he will face the winner of the second semi-final match between World No. 1 Serbia’s Novak Djokovic and  Dominic Thiem of Austria.

Federer has won twice against Nadal on Clay Court

This is the 24th victory of Nadal over Federer. On clay court, Federer has won only two times against Nadal, while Nadal has won 14 times. It was the second time that Nadal and Federer were clashing in the semi-finals of the French Open. Earlier in 2005 both of them were in the semi-finals of the French Open. In the French Open, both of them have mostly in the finals the southpaw coming out on top on all occassions.

In 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011, they are in front of each other in the final of the French Open, and Nadal has always beaten Federer. There is only one French Open title in Federer’s account, which he won in 2009. Nadal is one win away from his 18th Grand Slam title, while the 20-time Grand Slam winner Federer ended the tour in the semi finals.
