Rain pushes India-New Zeland semifinal into reserve day

The game of the semi-final match of the ICC World Cup-2015 issued between India and New Zealand has been stopped due to rain. When rain came in the match, New Zealand’s score was 211 at 46.1 overs for 5 wickets. Ross Taylor (67) and Tom Latham (3) were at the crease. New Zealand had decided to bat first before winning the toss in this match. The match will now be resumed at 3 P.M Indian Standard Time.

Reserve day rule

The officials tried to complete the match today itself but lost out to mother nature. The outcome of the match will now be decided on reserve day. Good thing for India is that the match will start from where it will end today. In such a situation, India will meet to play 50 overs and the target will be small too. New Zealand team has till now scored 211 runs in 46.1 overs losing 5 wickets. When the match resumes on reserve day, then New Zealand will play the remaining overs too and India can have a score of about 250-260. It will be better for India as the overs will be more then the challenge of achieving the target should be easier for the men in blue.
