Cricket Association of Uttarakhand gets full BCCI recognition

Uttarakhand cricket board’s 19 year wait has finally ended. Uttarakhand has got full recognition of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). With this, ’13 August 2019′ was also recorded in the golden pages of Uttarakhand cricket. The Committee of Administrators (COA) selected by the Supreme Court on Tuesday gave full recognition to the Cricket Association of Uttarakhand (CAU) from the BCCI. Now along with the players, the name of the state will also be seen shining on the international board. With this decision of BCCI, every cricketer in the state is proud.

For every cricket lover in Uttarakhand, this moment is like a dream come true. The work that the BCCI could not do in the last 19 years was done by the COA in a span of just one year. Due to the ongoing tussle between the four associations of the state, the players of the state had to wait 19 years to see this day. However, due to the recognition now the exodus of the players of the state will be stopped completely. Because in the last 19 years, Uttarakhand has lost players like Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant, Unmukt Chand and other emerging talents due to lack of recognition.

Sports Minister Arvind Pandey said that “this day is a very happy day for Uttarakhand cricket. I did not advocate for any association in BCCI. I have only advocated for state players. I congratulate every player of the state for this. I thank the BCCI and will go to Delhi and express my gratitude to COA President Vinod Rai.”

Cricket Association Of Uttarakhand Secretary PC Verma said that “I have dedicated my whole life to cricket. Earned nothing but cricket in his life. Today my heartfelt wish came true. Now no player from my state will have to go out to play cricket. For this I pay special thanks to the BCCI, Committee of Administrators.”
