Second phase of Uttarakhand Panchayat elections 2019 concludes

The second phase of the three-tier panchayat election has been completed. There was a lot of enthusiasm among the villagers about voting. Since the morning, people had been in line to vote for their candidate. Till 4 pm, 59.41 percent voting was held.

None of the 110 voters of the village of Mallimirai, Gram Panchayat in Dwarahat Vikaskhand, voted for any of the 24 voters. A total of 134 voters from these villages boycotted the election today due to ‘no road no vote’.

Only nine people voted in Kaligaon in Lohaghat block. There are a total of 869 voters in the two booths of this village. But angry with the town’s garbage dumping in the forest, these people boycotted the elections.

Commission expects good number of votes

Like the previous phase of voting, this time also the State Election Commission is expecting good percentage of votes. Today, in the second phase, over 14 lakh voters will vote for more than 12 thousand candidates. To reach this task, 3343 polling parties have been deployed in 31 development blocks.

According to the Commission, orders have been issued not to allow the District Election Officers to have any abstinence in voting. With this, polling parties have also been sent. For Pauri, the commission has further deployed a polling party. In all, 3343 polling parties have been appointed in the election.

Polling is being held for the second phase of the three-tier panchayat elections in Kalsi and Sahaspur blocks of Dehradun district. For this, 127 polling parties have been sent on Thursday for Kalsi and 197 for Sahaspur block. Today, both government and private institutions have holidays in both blocks.

A total of 1,60,742 voters will exercise the franchise. These include 77,542 women voters. Voting will be held for 161 Gram Pradhan, 80 Regional Panchayat and 10 District Panchayat members. In the second phase of the three-tier panchayat elections, one lakh 65 thousand 843 voters will decide the fate of 1,190 candidates in Jaunpur, Thauldhar and Pratapnagar blocks of Tehri district.

105757 voters of three blocks voted in the second phase of panchayat elections in Kumaon today. Voted was held today in Dhari, Ramgarh and Kotabagh blocks. For which 242 polling parties reached the polling station on Thursday.

    If there will no road in our village then the villagers will “never gives vote” till the time the road does’t comes.
