Uttarakhand government agrees to hike DA of employees ahead of Diwali

The government has given a five per cent increase in dearness allowance to employees, officers and pensioners and a bonus to non-gazetted rank employees before Diwali. On Monday, the Finance Department has ordered the payment of five percent DA and bonus. This decision of the government will benefit the employees working in the pay scale of the government, aided educational and technical educational institutions, local bodies, regular and full-time, working, government university and UGC. In the form of DA, the state government will incur financial burden of about 600 crores in a year.

Salary before Diwali

The government has decided to pay the employees the salary of October before Diwali. This file was prepared by the Finance Department on Monday itself. After the approval of the Chief Minister late evening, the Finance Department issued its orders. Finance Secretary Amit Negi said that all departments have been ordered to release the salaries of workers and pensioners before Diwali.

Government personnel were getting 12 percent DA till now. After this order, they will now get 17 percent DA. The government has issued an order for dearness allowance and bonus for this. Before Diwali, 17 percent dearness allowance will be paid to employees along with salary.

With the approval of Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, this mandate was issued by Secretary Finance Amit Singh Negi on Monday. According to it, the employees will be paid 17 percent DA from July 1, 2019. With this, the government has also issued an order to increase DA by five per cent to 1.50 lakh pensioners. This exercise was continued for a long time.

In the case of DA, the State Election Commission had already given the green signal. On Monday, the permission to issue bonuses was also issued by the State Election Commission. On Saturday itself, the Chief Minister also issued a directive to issue DA and bonus. The personnel will also receive arrears.

Bonus of Rs 6908 to 1.60 lakh employees

The Finance Department has also issued an order for payment of bonus to employees on Monday. This will benefit about 1.60 lakh employees in the state. The finance department has issued an order to pay cash bonus of Rs 6908 to the employees.

Regular state employees, aided educational and technical educational institutions, regular and full-time employees of local bodies, government universities and UGC pay scale functionaries
