Infosys planning on laying off thousands of employees

Infosys has decided to lay off its employees amidst whistle-blower reports. The company will do the layoffs, especially at the senior and middle levels. Cognizant had also announced layoffs earlier. According to sources, Infosys will lay off around 2200 employees from job level six (JL6) under layoffs.

The company has about 30,000 employees between job levels six to eight. In addition, the company will trim job levels three and below to five per cent. There are about 86 employees in the company at this level. At the same time there are about one lakh employees are at associate and middle level. Similarly, there may be a retrenchment of about 50 officers at the level of Assistant Vice President to Executive Vice President.

Cognizant announces 13,000 layoffs

Cognizant announced a layoff of nearly 13,000 employees last week. The company will lay off about seven thousand employees at senior level in the coming quarters. American IT company Cognizant has said that it is also closing the content operations business and it will affect six thousand employees. In this way, about 13 thousand employees will be in total retrenchment.

Recently CEO of the company Brian Humphries said that due to the organizational restructuring, the company has taken this difficult decision, due to which more than 12,000 employees will have to leave their jobs. This step has been taken to reduce costs and skill development as well as to invest in growth.
