British scientists claim to have found potential life saving medicine against Covid-19

British scientists doing research on the coronavirus Covid-19 drug have claimed that they have found a drug that can save patients from infection against this dangerous virus. Scientists said that the use of a steroid called dexamethasone reduced the death rate of critically ill patients in up to a third cases. They also informed that soon a research paper will be published about this medicine.

Death rate decreased by 35% from dexamethasone

According to research, this drug was given to 2104 patients and compared to 4321 other patients being treated with normal methods. After the use of the drug, the mortality rate of patients undergoing treatment with ventilator decreased by 35 percent. At the same time, the mortality rate was reduced by 20 percent among the patients who were being given oxygen.

Dexamethasone drug not too expensive

Researcher Peter Horby of Oxford University said that these were very encouraging results. It clearly benefited from lowering the death rate and in oxygen-assisted patients. Therefore, dexamethasone should be used in such patients. Dexamethasone drug is also not expensive and can be used to save lives worldwide.

So far, 4 lakh 39 thousand 050 people have died due to coronavirus in the world. The figure of the infected has increased to 81 lakh 12 thousand 577. So far 42 lakh 13 thousand 182 people have become healthy. The UK has tested the asthma, lung disease and dermatitis drug dexamethasone on corona infections. It has been revealed in the result that it has helped reduce the death rate by one third. Researchers have described this drug as a great success. According to them, dexamethasone should be given immediately to the infected in hospitals.

HCQ medicine not useful against Corona

In the same study recently, it was said that hydroxychloroquine, a drug used in the treatment of malaria, is not useful in the treatment of coronavirus. The study included more than 11,000 patients in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
