PG Doctors to get full salary says CM Rawat

The Uttarakhand government will now give full salary to the doctors doing PG in medical education. Till now, during the PG, the doctors used to get half the salary. The announcement was made by Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Executive of the Provincial Medical and Health Services Association on Monday. The government will also have a condition that after PG, doctors will have to provide services in remote areas of the state.

The Chief Minister said that at present more than 65 percent doctors are deployed in the state. To improve health services in remote areas, the government is trying to appoint 100 percent doctors. Most doctors were appointed within the last two years. The CM said that the doctors doing PG will be given full salary.

This will remove shortage of specialist doctors in remote areas. Presently, doctors undergoing Post Graduation were given 50 percent of the total salary for three years. The Chief Minister said that there is a need to use technology in health services. Doctors should give their suggestions for making effective and improved tele-medicine and tele-radiology service.

The Chief Minister instructed the doctors that there are some useless people in every field. Whose eyes are on the small lapses of good work. Such unprofitable people do nothing themselves and oppose people doing good work. Government hospitals are also on their radar. Doctors stay away from such eyes.

Nine doctors who did excellent work honored

The newly elected Executive of the Provincial Medical and Health Services Association honored nine doctors for providing better services in remote areas of the state. At the swearing-in ceremony, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat honored the doctors by giving them a citation.

People going to the shelter of gods and goddesses in inaccessible areas

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that due to lack of health services in inaccessible areas of the state, people are going to the shelter of Gods and Goddesses. Specialist doctors in difficult areas are not ready to provide services. He reiterated that the government’s priority is to provide better health services in remote areas. Doctors need to come forward for this.

Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama suggested to the Chief Minister that there is a shortage of specialist doctors in the state. If the government increases the retired age limit of doctors from 60 to 65 years, then it will continue to provide services of doctors in remote areas. After retiring, the services of doctors are taken again, raising the age limit of the retired will solve many problems.
