Rains, snow spell continues in Uttarakhand

Today morning started with cloudy skies in the capital Dehradun. However, there was some relief from cold after the sun blossomed. But in the afternoon the weather changed again in Doon. It was cloudy and drizzling started. After three o’clock, rains started in Dehradun.

There was a big hailstorm in Premnagar. The temperature has dropped significantly due to rain and hail. By the evening, there was snowfall in Mussoorie. Tourists from India and abroad were seen enjoying the snowfall. At the same time, trouble increased for the local people. People were seen resorting to warm clothes and bonfires to avoid the cold.

After midday on Saturday, the high peaks of Jaunsar Bawar were covered by snow amid the changing weather. Chakrata Cantonment Market area also received snowfall. Seeing which the faces of tourists blossomed with them making plans to reach Chakrata over the weekend. T

On the other hand, there was snowfall in Munsiyari of Pithoragarh on Saturday. The Thal-Munsari motorway has been closed once again due to snowfall. In Kumaon, Rudrapur, Almora, Bhimtal and Nainital remained cloudy throughout the day. Fog enveloped Nainital in the morning and snowfall in the afternoon. Mukteshwar also received snowfall. It was sunny in Ramnagar in the morning and later it was cloudy. Intermittent rains continued in Munsiyari, Reetha Sahib, Lohaghat and Mukteswar. In the afternoon there was hail storm in Pithoragarh. The temperature has dropped significantly here.

Snowfall again increased the problems of the mountain

Snowfall in high altitude areas of Garhwal on Saturday and rain in low lying areas increased the cold. The entire area is in the grip of cold wave due to light cloud cover since morning and sudden rain after that. On Saturday, areas including Hemkund Sahib, Chopta, Harshil, Bhatwadi, Nizamula Valley, Khirsu, etc. have received heavy snowfall, including Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham. Also, due to snowfall in the already snow-covered villages, people’s problems have increased. Especially with the crisis of fuel wood, problems of electricity, water and communication have arisen.

Life is badly affected in Chamoli district

Rain, snowfall and hailstorm have severely affected life in Chamoli district. The district is experiencing a chill. There was silence in the town areas in the afternoon due to the extreme cold. People stayed in their homes. 13 roads in the district have been blocked due to snowfall, while power supply has come to a standstill in five villages. 87 villages are completely covered in snow.
