Western disturbance bring fresh spell of rain & snow in North India

The impact of snowfall in the hilly states is visible on the weather of Delhi, UP and Bihar. Scattered rains are forecast over the plains in the next few days due to western disturbances. The mountains of North India are receiving good rain and snowfall during this winter season. Jammu and Kashmir has also received light rainfall during the last 24 hours. Due to this, the cold may increase once again, which will be seen in the districts of Delhi and UP.

According to Skymet Meteorologists, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in almost all parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh during the next 24 hours. Snowfall is forecast in some places even today. In view of light snowfall and rain in the last 24 hours in some parts of Himachal Pradesh, the Meteorological Department has issued orange and yellow warnings on January 13 and 16 due to the possibility of heavy rain and snowfall in the state.

Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 7.1 degrees Celsius, which is normal for this time of the year. The Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 327, which falls in the ‘very poor’ category. The Meteorological Department has predicted cloudy sky with light rain in Delhi. As of now, the minimum temperature in Delhi on Monday morning was 12 degrees Celsius.

In Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, people have been advised not to visit snow-covered areas and high altitude areas. The police gave this information on Sunday. Kullu Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh said that Shimla Meteorological Center has predicted heavy rain and snowfall in the district from January 12 to 19. He told that people should avoid going to high altitude places as it can be dangerous.
