First Apple store to open in India confirms Tim Cook

American tech company Apple is preparing to open its first retail store in India which is called Apple Store. So far, Apple products in India are found in the company’s authorized showroom or you can buy them from the e-commerce website.

Apple CEO Tim Cook has said that the company will open its first retail store in India next year. Tim Cook has also said that this year the company is going to open its online store as well.

During the annual shareholder meeting of the company running in California, Tim Cook has told about his plan for India. According to the report, Apple CEO Tim Cook has said, “I don’t think we will be very good retail partners, we like to do things in our own way”.

According to the report, Apple will have to seek permission from the Government of India to open a store in India without any local partner. However, it is not clear in which city India’s first Apple store will be opened. It can be expected that the company will open its first retail store in Mumbai.

Significantly, in India, Apple is far behind Samsung and its other competitors and the company needs a kind of boost. The company has already started assembling some models of iPhone in India.

According to the report, the company may launch the iPhone SE 2 or iPhone 9 next month, which will be much lower than the other flagship iPhones. If it happens then this smartphone can be popular in India.
