Mahakumbh 2021: Dates for Shahi Snan announced

Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat has announced the date of the four major Shahi Snans of the Kumbh Mela to be held in 2021, after a nearly two-hour meeting at CCR regarding the preparations for Haridwar Kumbh Mela. The first Shahi Snan will be held on Mahashivratri on 11 March 2021, the second bath on Somavati Amavasya on 12 April 2021, the third bath Baisakhi on 14 April 2021 and the fourth bath on Chaitra Purnima on 27 April 2021. In the meeting, Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat gave strict instructions to the officials that they should complete the Kumbh works with timeliness and quality. In this, the departments that have any problem, should bring it to the notice of the Mela Officer. If approval is to be done from the government level, then it will also be arranged.

The Chief Minister said that work should be done for the Kumbh Mela by constantly contacting the important saints and necessary security. He said that work should be done within the time frame to remove encroachment. Leases will be allotted to departments as per the requirement of construction material for construction works in Kumbh region. For this, a permit should be given to work day and night. The Chief Minister said that for the successful organization of the Kumbh Mela, the cooperation of the saint Mahatmas of all the akhadas is necessary.
