CM Rawat announces lockdown in Uttarakhand; essential services to remain open

Big news has come out from Uttarakhand amid public curfew. CM Trivendra Singh Rawat has declared a lock-down in the state till March 31. He took this decision by holding an emergency meeting of the police department and other officials. He said that emergency services and food supplies will be smooth throughout this period.

CM Trivendra Singh Rawat said that the way the people of the state accepted and implemented the PM’s appeal, I am sure that we can fight the coronavirus completely. Doctors, employees, businessmen, municipal corporations have contributed to this. We must be prepared for the time to come. There will be no shortage of any essential goods for the public.

 

He said that “the government is fully prepared to deal with the coronavirus. Everyone’s cooperation is needed to fight this challenge. Do not panic at all. The government is providing all the essential services such as health, sanitation, ration, vegetables, fruits, petrol, diesel etc. important etc. during this period. He urged the citizens to ignore the rumors and only understand the instructions of the government.”

The Chief Minister said that in view of the Coronavirus experiences and its horrors, today the State Government has decided that our Inter-State Transport Service and Public Transport Service will become inoperational in the State. Secondly, our essential services in the state, whether health related, food related and whatever other necessary services will be available, their shops will remain open. All the District Magistrates have been authorized to take decisions as per local circumstances. All the citizens are also requested not to leave their cities, their neighborhoods. Those who are from the village should not leave their village. When necessary, exit the village only. This decision has been taken till March 31, 2020. Its mandate will be issued.
