Emergency recruitment of doctors & nurses in Uttarakhand to tackle COVID-19
In view of the rapid spread of the coronavirus COVID-19 in the country as well as in the world, the government has decided to make emergency recruitment of doctors and nurses. In the Directorate General of Health, it has been decided to immediately give temporary appointment to 555 doctors on the basis of walk in interview, halting permanent recruitment of 555 vacant posts of doctors. All these doctors will be appointed on the basis of walk in interview.
Apart from this, it has been decided to increase the faculty posts of government medical colleges by fifty percent. It has been decided to increase the post to fill the reserved posts. Faculty held in medical colleges will also be appointed for 11 months.
Recruitment of nurses through outsource
Along with this, the government has decided to immediately recruit nurses through UPNL, PRD and outsourcing agencies in view of shortage of nurses in hospitals. For this, recruitment has been exempted from the order of Finance Department on 27 April 2018. Appointment of outsourced nursing staff will also be temporary. However, the appointment can be made for 11 months. The Health Department has been authorized for this.
