No new coronavirus case reported in Uttarakhand for 4th consecutive day

In a much needed relief news, not a single corona positive patient has been found in Uttarakhand for the last four days. So far, 35 patients have been found positive in the state, out of which five patients have been cured. The investigation report of all 93 samples received by the Health Department from Haldwani and Rishikesh AIIMS has come up negative.

Investigation report  of a doctor admitted in the isolation ward of Doon Medical College is also negative. He has been discharged from the hospital. Also, it has been advised to keep them in the 14-day quarantine.

Health Secretary Nitesh Jha said that no new cases of corona have been reported in the state on Sunday. He said that a total of 108 more samples have been sent to the lab for examination on Sunday. A total of 373 suspected patients of novel Coronavirus are admitted in state hospitals, who have been kept in isolation in different hospitals. So far, a total of 1820 samples were sent from all over the state for corona examination, out of which 1452 were found to be negative whereas 35 positive.

909 cases in India in last 24 hours

An increase of 909 cases has been noted in COVID-19 confirmed cases in the country since yesterday. As many as 716 persons have been cured/discharged after recovery and total 273 deaths have been reported, as of today.

Government is also focussing on increasing the capacity of primary medical infrastructure which includes dedicated hospitals, isolation beds, ICU beds, and quarantine facilities. As on 12.04.2020, while the requirement of beds for 8356 cases is estimated to be 1671 (20% of confirmed cases with moderate and severe/critical clinical symptoms), the present availability of beds is 1,05,980 in 601 dedicated COVID-19 hospitals across the country. The number of isolation beds in dedicated hospitals across the country is being further augmented.
