Rahul Dravid to be new head coach of Indian men’s cricket team

In the midst of the T20 World Cup, former India captain and great batsman Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the new head coach of Team India. BCCI has informed about the appointment of Rahul Dravid as the new coach on Twitter. Rahul Dravid has now been appointed as the coach in place of Ravi Shastri. After the T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli will leave the captaincy of the T20 team, after which Rahul Dravid will take over as the coach of Team India.

Shastri’s contract will end after T20 World Cup 2021

Ravi Shastri will step down as the coach of Team India after the T20 World Cup. Shastri became the coach of Team India for the first time in 2017. After that, the team showed a great performance in Australia and registered many big wins in countries across the world, but during Shastri’s tenure, India could not win a single ICC trophy, due to which he and Kohli were constantly targeted. Shastri had decided that he would not allow his contract to be extended after the World Cup.

Rahul Dravid will take over this responsibility from India’s home series against New Zealand. Team India has to play 3 T20 and 2 Test series by New Zealand in November-December.
