Boeing employs about 1.6 lakh employees. Air travel has been affected all over the world due to corona infection. The company believes that this will severely affect its business in the future. That is why the company has decided to lay off 10 per cent of its workforce. In a letter to employees, Boeing President and CEO David Calhoun said in a letter to employees last month that we had started a program for employees to leave voluntarily. Now I feel very sad to say that we have decided to remove the employees from the job. Under this, 6770 employees will be fired from the US this week.

Financial assistance will be given to the employees fired

Calhoun further said that the employees who would be fired would be given all possible help in addition to the payment for separation from the company. In addition, Health Care cover will be given to employees fired in the US. The CEO said that the company plans to reduce staffing in all its international offices. Its information will be given locally. These employees will also be given all types of benefits under local laws.

Corona’s dangerous impact on airline industry

CEO David Calhoun said the Covid-19 has had a very dangerous impact on the airline industry. This means that in the coming few years our customers will make big cuts in the purchase of commercial jets and other services. This will cause us lack of work. He said that in the coming years as soon as the recovery in the airline industry starts, we will focus on the needs of our commercial airline customers.

Many economies are showing revival signs

According to Calhoun, many US states and some other countries have opened up their economy. He said that it is showing some relief. Some of Boeing’s business, including defense, has resumed. We will keep hiring promises and critical skill positions from our customers.
