Covid-19 testing lab to be set up in Haridwar soon

Soon the investigation of Covid-19 will also start in Haridwar. The government has accepted the proposal of the district administration to set up labs due to increasing pressure from migrants and delay in getting reports from outside. At the same time, it has also assured to approve the amount of about three crore to be spent on it soon.

Since Haridwar has been made a major center for the movement of migrants, Corona patients are continuously coming here. More than that, Haridwar has also been made an institutional quarantine center for migrants from Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi, Haridwar and Chamoli districts.

In this way, samples of large number of people are being sent daily for investigation. Samples of 4884 people have been taken from the district so far. These samples are being tested at AIIMS in Rishikesh and Doon Medical College in Dehradun. Apart from Dehradun, there is also pressure to examine samples coming from other districts. In this case, there is a huge backlog of sample reports.
