Rivers flowing close to danger mark following incessant rains in Uttarakhand

Due to rain in the mountains, the water level of the Ganges river in Haridwar rose to the warning mark. The district administration cautioned the people on the embankments as the water levels rose. People were also warned about not to come near the river. As the water level rose, officials of the Tehsil and Irrigation Department went to the grounds to inspect the banks of the Ganges.

The Ganga’s water level rose on Monday afternoon. Water levelĀ  reached danger level of 293 meters. As soon as the water level of the Ganges was increased, the officials of the Tehsil and Irrigation Department went for inspection

SDO of Irrigation Department of Uttar Pradesh, Vikrant Saini said that water reached 293 meters at 12 noon. The district administration was apprised as soon as the water in the Ganges increased. Incessant rains have wrecked havoc in many parts of the state. Many rivers and rivulets are in spate flowing close to danger mark following heavy rains in the state.
