Several affected by gas leak in Visakhapatnam plant
This morning, 6 people, including a child, died due to gas leaking from LG Polymers plant in Vizag, while the condition of 100 people is said to be critical. It is reported that more than 1000 people have been admitted to the hospital. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is monitoring this entire situation. He has called a disaster management meeting to take stock of the situation. Home Minister Amit Shah has also tweeted that the incident is being monitored.
3 km from this gas leak. The area has been affected. As a precaution 4 villages have been evacuated. According to the information, the gas leak occured at RR Venkatapuram near Naiduthota area. For this reason, the people present there were taken to the hospital after complaining of irritation in eyes and difficulty in breathing.
It is being told that when gas leaked, people started getting nervous and had trouble breathing. The reason for the gas leak has not been known yet.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has inquired about the incident and directed the District Collector to ensure that the affected people get proper treatment.
