ICSE allows students to option to get marks based on pre-board for pending exams

The Indian School Certificate Examination (CICSE) board has told the Bombay High Court that students can remain absent from the remaining Class 10 examination of the ICSE Board if they wish. The board has said that such students will be evaluated on the basis of pre board and internal exam, but they would have to inform the board about it beforehand.

These examinations were to be held in July. According to the time table, the ICSE Board Class 10 examination is to be conducted from July 2 to July 12.

The ICSE board has given this answer in court after the filing of a petition. A petition given by the guardian of a student has asked to postpone the examination.

Some examinations of ICSE board were postponed due to Coronavirus. The next hearing of this case will be on Wednesday. The board has said that in the subjects for which the examinations have been conducted, the students will be evaluated according to their examinations.

Earlier in the hearing, the CISCE said that they have already announced the safety norms of the students, in which after every paper, the examination hall will be sanitized and special care will be taken for social distancing. Also, thermal screening of students at the main gate, use of masks and sanitizers was also said by the CISCE.

Apart from this, the CISCE has also said that during the exam, no student will be allowed to give or take stationery items to each other. It has also been said that the exam teacher will have to wear gloves.

Apart from ICSE, a petition has also been filed against the CBSE on the other side in the Supreme Court. CBSE has said to hold the remaining 12th class papers between July 1 and 15, against which the parents have filed a petition and demanded the cancellation of the exam.
