More than 90 percent vendors resume business on Flipkart

Walmart-owned e-commerce company Flipkart has said that more than 90 percent of its vendors have resumed business on its platform since April. Along with this, Flipkart said that during April-June 2020, there has been an increase of about 125% in the number of new vendors joining its platform.

Companies identifying new ways of functioning

The e-commerce company said that due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, companies across the country are rethinking their mode of operations. In addition, they identifying new ways of working. Now local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the country have recognized the true value of e-commerce that through this they can be connected to millions of consumers.

MSMEs of these states showed more interest

The statement said that since April 2020, 90 percent of Flipkart vendors have resumed their business on the platform. Flipkart vendors are able to leverage the platform’s reach nationally. Apart from this, they are getting an efficient, transparent and completely non-partisan functioning for the Market Place business. Flipkart said that MSMEs in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Delhi and Tamil Nadu have shown the most interest in doing their business online.

Flipkart introduced health insurance plan

Flipkart has introduced a health insurance plan in view of Covid-19, in which health coverage is provided to their families and employees at special concessional rates of Rs 50,000 to Rs 3,00,000 per person. To address the working capital problem of the vendor community, a special offer has been made on the loan through Flipkart’s Growth Capital program and loans are made available to the vendors associated with the platform within 48 hours.

The company has said that it is providing livelihood support to more than 5,00,000 artisans and micro-entrepreneurs across the country under the ‘Flipkart Samarth’ initiative.
