Wasim Jaffer to coach Uttarakhand Men’s cricket team

The next coach of the Uttarakhand senior cricket team will be former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer. The Cricket Association of Uttarakhand (CAU) has named Wasim Jaffer as the coach of the men’s senior team. Now Wasim will take part in the upcoming BCCI domestic season as a coach with the Uttarakhand team.

CAU Secretary Mahim Verma said that on the instructions of the BCCI all the state cricket associations have started preparations for the upcoming domestic season. In this episode, CAU has first selected the coaches of the men and women teams so that the preparation of the teams is not affected. Mahim said that a big name in the form of Wasim Jaffer will be associated with the men’s senior team.

The team will also benefit from Wasim’s experience of international cricket. Apart from this, Sanjay Kumar Pandey, was selected as the coach of the women’s senior team. Physio and trainer were also selected for the other two teams.

Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer has played 31 international Tests and two ODIs. Wasim is also the highest run-scorer in the Ranji Trophy. He is a legend in India’s domestic cricket circuit being the only player to score over 12000 runs in Ranji Trophy. Wasim also holds the record for most matches in the Ranji Trophy. Wasim retired from cricket in March 2020. Wasim has scored 19211 runs in 256 first class matches at an average of 50.95.
