Ford launches new automatic variant of Titanium Trim EcoSport

Ford has added a new variant to the EcoSport automatic range. The company has launched a new EcoSport Titanium Trim automatic variant. Its price is 10.66 lakh rupees. The company has launched it as a cheaper version of the top-spec Titanium + variant already present in the market. The new variant is about Rs 90,000 cheaper than the top-spec automatic variant.

“With the new Titanium trim in the 2020 EcoSport line-up, we wish more consumers to enjoy the convenience of an automatic without compromising on the fun-of-driving. The outstanding value on offer will ensure that consumers no longer settle for underwhelming automatic technologies available in the market,” said Vinay Raina, executive director for Marketing, Sales and Service at Ford India.

What will be available in this version?

The company has removed the sunroof from this variant to reduce the price, apart from this the car will get only two front airbags. However, the top-spec EcoSport Titanium + Automatic offers a sunroof and six airbags.
Some other features found in the new Titanium variant include auto headlights and wipers, a rear seat center armrest and front map light. Apart from this, it will also get features like 9.0-inch infotainment system, cruise control, paddle shifters, traction control and ESP.

Which engine does the new EcoSport automatic come with?

Like other Titanium models, the new EcoSport automatic also comes with a 122 horsepower BS6 compliant 1.5-liter petrol engine, which generates 149 Nm of torque. It has a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

Is this variant equipped with the company’s FordPass connected car technology?

Yes, Ford’s recently introduced Fordpass connected car technology is also available in the new EcoSport Titanium automatic variant. The FordPass comes with features like vehicle start or stop, vehicle locator, remote lock or unlock, and some other vehicle-related updates.

Who will compete with the new Ford EcoSport Automatic?

It will compete with other petrol-powered compact SUVs such as the Tata Nexon AMT, Hyundai Venue DCT and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza mild-hybrid AT.
