No T-20 World Cup in 2020

In view of the current state of the corona virus, the ICC in its online meeting has postponed the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia this year. No decision has been taken yet on when it will be held. With the postponement of the T20 World Cup, the possibility of the world’s largest cricket league IPL happening this year has increased significantly.

Earlier Australia’s Sports Minister Richard Colbeck said his country could overcome the challenge of hosting teams for the T20 World Cup, but the main issue is whether to hold the tournament in empty stadiums without spectators will be right.

Due to the situation due to the coronavirus, in Australia, T20 World Cup was difficult to organize and without the audience there is no meaning of organizing a tournament like World Cup, so it was canceled.

When can there be IPL?

With the postponement of the T20 World Cup 2020, the path of IPL has now been cleared. According to sources, BCCI is thinking of organizing IPL season 13 between 26 September to 8 November. It is also possible that BCCI may organize IPL season 13 in UAE.

Sri Lanka and UAE have already proposed to host IPL season 13 in front of BCCI. So far, the IPL has been shifted out of India twice. The 2009 IPL edition was moved to South Africa due to the Lok Sabha elections. After this, the UAE hosted the first two weeks of the IPL at the time of the 2014 elections as well.
