Saturday-Sunday lockdown to be implemented in 4 districts of Uttarakhand

In view of the increasing cases of corona in Uttarakhand, the Trivandra government has announced lockdown two days a week in 4 districts of Uttarakhand- Dehradun, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar. These are the districts with the most active Corona cases in the state. This decision was taken at a high level meeting of the Chief Secretary.

As per the DM order in Dehradun essential services including medical shops, petrol pumps, gas agencies, dairy, vegetable shops will remain open. Hotels and shops selling alcohol will also be allowed to operate in the district.

New Inclusions in rules when traveling to Uttarakhand

The administration has decided to include the following when traveling to Uttarakhand:

  1. All inbound persons from other states, irrespective of mode of travel, shall mandatorily register themselves on the Smart City Web Portal http://smartcitydehradun.uk.gov.in, prior to their travel. Though no permit/permision shall be required for such movement, the registration documents shall necessarily be verified at the border check post.
  2. All inbound asymptomatic persons, who have undergone RT-PCR test from ICMR authorized lab not earlier than 72 hours from the time of arrival, reflecting Covid-19 negative report, shall be permitted to enter the state without any restrictions. Such persons shall also be exempted from being quarantined. However, these people must upload their medical report on the Smart City web portal which would be verified by the authorities.
  3. There shall be an upper limit of 1500 persons per day (excluding people coming by train and plane) for all inbound persons traveling to the state without undergoing RT-PCR tests. In exceptional circumstances, DMs will be authorized to issue around 50 permits, over and above this limit, to persons in distress.
