Uttarakhand HC issues notices to Divya Pharmacy & state government
On Wednesday, the Uttarakhand High Court issued a notice to Baba Ramdev’s Divya Pharmacy, ICMR Nims University (Rajasthan), Central and State Government, hearing the petition on the coronil medicine case. After clarifying the situation on the petition in this case, the court has directed to file the reply within a week.
The matter of coronil reached the High Court on Tuesday. While hearing, the court had issued a notice to the Assistant Solicitor General of the Central Government in the case of this medicine launched by Patanjali Ayurved.
With this, all parties were asked to present their case. The petition said that the license to manufacture the medicine was not taken by Divya Pharmacy and its clinical trial was not done.
In the petition, keeping in mind the health of the common man, the law was sought to be stopped and legal action against the guilty concerned. After the online hearing, the court issued notice and set the date for next hearing.
This is the whole case
It is alleged that Patanjali’s Divya Pharmacy claimed to make Corona’s medicine last Tuesday. Since then, many questions were raised on Patanjali’s medicine. Taking cognizance of this, the Ministry of AYUSH had prohibited the promotion of medicine by sending a notice to Patanjali. Also, documents related to this were summoned.
At the same time, on Wednesday, Uttarakhand AYUSH department also sent a notice to Divya Pharmacy, ordering the pharmacy to immediately stop the promotion of coronil kits and modify the label. The notice was asked to reply within seven days. The state AYUSH department said that Patanjali was given a license to make an immunity booster.
The department said that after getting the guidelines of the Ministry of AYUSH in the matter of making medicines, the Expert Committee of the Ayurveda Drugs License Authority will examine the case. Only after which the decision will be taken by the Department of AYUSH.
