Boating resumes in Nainital

Boating has resumed in the tourist town of Nainital after a halt of more than five months. Even though boating has started in Nainital amidst increasing cases of Corona infection, many boatsmen are not following the guide line of Covid-19.

As per the rules, the boaters are required to sanitize the boats as well as wear masks, but during these two days many boatsmen were seen ferrying the tourists without putting on masks, face shields and gloves.

EO of the municipality Ashok Kumar Verma said that the boatmen have been instructed to follow the guide line of Covid 19. If anyone is found violating it then action will be taken.

Unemployed got relief

Boatmen sitting unemployed for five months have been relieved with the start of boating. Boating which is one of the main tourist attraction had stopped since the lockdown at the lake. Due to this, there was an economic crisis on the boat operatorss.

Discontinued operations since 22 March

There was a crisis on the livelihood of the boat operators since March 22. Many times, social organizations helped these people, but the problems of household expenses were coming to the fore. However now boats have started operating with tourist activities resuming in the hill town.
