Hathras gang-rape victim dies during treatment in Delhi
There is anger and resentment among the masses over the gang rape of a 19-year-old girl in Hathras. This incident of gang rape has been compared to that of Nirbhaya for its brutality. The struggle of the victim, who suffered inhuman acts on 14 September in Hathras, ended at Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Humanity is ashamed after this act with the teenager from Hathras. The brutality of her ordeal could be gauged from the fact that her tongue was cut and her spinal cord was broken. Four people have been arrested in this case, that too after the victim’s statement. It took eight days for the police to register a case of gang rape after the September 14 scandal.
Superintendent of Police confirmed the death of the victim. As per reports, the shameful incident of gang-rape of the young woman was carried out on September 14. After this, the accused also tried to strangle her. On Monday, she was referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi from JN Medical College, Aligarh after her condition became very critical.
The victim was referred to Delhi via Life Support Ambulance around 10 am on Monday. She was admitted to Safdarganj Hospital. According to the victim’s brother, she died during treatment at around 5.30 am on Tuesday.
Condition was critical
The victim had trouble breathing when she was brought to the medical college. She was put on ventilator when her condition worsened. According to physicians, there are seven discs in the neck, which connect the spinal cord. The woman had problems with the second and third discs. In such a situation the brain works, but the muscles do not work properly. Due to cervical injury, her arms and legs were not working.
