Uttarakhand government defers partial opening of schools by 1 week

In view of the Corona outbreak, the Uttarakhand government has decided not to open schools from September 21. Education Minister Arvind Pandey directed the Chief Secretary, Education Secretary and Director of Education to take action in this regard.

Pandey said that it would not be appropriate to open schools in the way Corona infection is increasing. Currently, schools will be completely closed until 30 September. After this, the decision will be taken according to the new guidelines of the Center and the circumstances of the state.

Unlocked 4 standards have been set in the SOP issued by the Chief Secretary on 1 September. Accordingly, all educational institutions will remain closed till 30 September. But at the district level, schools could be allowed to open with 50 per cent teacher-staff. During this time, teachers can conduct online studies, telecounseling etc. Students from class 9th to 12th could come to school with the permission of their parents to seek guidance from teachers for studies.
