Dehradun-Haridwar highway remains clogged for hours due to farmer protest

The farmers of Doiwala traveled Doon with tractors. When the police stationed at the place stopped the procession, there was a clash between the protestors and police. Meanwhile, traffic on the Dehradun-Haridwar highway was disrupted for hours. Farmers from the Doiwala area took out a tractor rally and traveled to the Raj Bhavan, but were stopped by the police already deployed at Lachiwala toll.

There was a lot of uproar here. After which a large number of farmers reached Harrawala by alternate routes.

The farmers somehow reached Mianwala after a scuffle and arguments with the police. During this period, some farmers also suffered minor injuries. In Mianwala, the road was completely closed by placing a dumper by police.

City Magistrate Kushm Chauhan, SP City Shweta Chaubey and SP Rural Parmendra Doval tried to convince the farmers. The farmers remained adamant on the insistence of the Raj Bhavan for a long time. Finally they submitted the memorandum to the City Magistrate and returned from there.

Police barricading at mohand

In order to stop the farmers traveling from Biharigarh to Doon, the police imposed barricades at Mohand and Asharodi. As soon as the protestors reached the mohand in procession, the pre-stationed police stopped them. Here the farmers shouted slogans for hours. The Biharigarh police also helped stop the procession. Finally the administration officials took memorandum from the farmers and pacified them.
