Officials alert after UK strain Corona positive case found in Dehradun
On Friday, 141 new corona cases were reported in Uttarakhand while six patients died. The total number of active cases has reached 2406. The total number of infected patients has reached 94465. According to the Health Bulletin, 3 cases were found positive in Almora, 1 in Bageshwar, 2 in Chamoli, 4 in Champawat, 51 in Dehradun, 13 in Haridwar, 37 in Nainital, 12 in Pauri, 2 in Pithoragarh, 4 in Tehri, 10 in US Nagar, 2 in Uttarkashi. The state has an infection rate of 4.82 percent, a recovery rate of 94.41 percent. On Friday, 10573 cases were found to be negative. 11795 samples sent to investigation. Investigation report of 12310 sample is still awaited.
A 44-year-old resident of Dehradun has been confirmed for a new corona strain believed to have been mutated in UK. This is the first case of a new corona strain in Uttarakhand. This person came in contact with the people who returned from Britain. The test report of a child is yet to come. 131 people returned from Britain between December 25 to 23 in Doon. Their sampling was done. The samples were sent to the National Center for Disease Control Delhi for genome sequencing investigations after seven of them had positive test reports.

Health department cautious on confirmation of new strain
