Team India wraps up third Test inside two days

Team India beat England by 10 wickets in the third match of the four-Test series played between India and England at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. Rohit Sharma hit the winning six for Team India. This is the second time in Test cricket when India has won a match within just two days. The English batsmen looked helpless after the brilliant bowling of Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin and the entire team was all out by scoring 81 runs in the second innings. Team India chased the target of 49 runs for victory in just 7.4 overs without losing any wickets. With this victory, India has taken a 2–1 lead in the series.

Axar Patel, playing at his home ground, performed excellent bowling in both innings of the day-night test. Axar took six wickets in the first innings of the Test played with pink ball and five wickets in the second inning. Due to the left-armer’s bowling, India bowled out England for 112 and 81 runs. In his debut match also, Akshar bowled brilliantly, taking five wickets in the second inning and became the sixth bowler to take five wickets in a debut match for India.

England’s team collapsed for 81 in the second innings, which is their minimum test score against India. India had a target of 49 runs, which they achieved on the second day without losing wickets in the first hour of the third session. Rohit Sharma (25 *) hit the winning six while Shubman Gill was not out after scoring 15 runs.

In this way, India took a strong step towards making it to the final of the World Test Championship by taking a 2–1 lead in the 4-match series. England are eliminated from the final race due to this defeat. India will get the final ticket against New Zealand at Lord’s in June even if they draw the third Test match to be held from March 4.
